Angry Serious problem with disappearing evergy level!

Hello, I'm a lvl 7 Necromancer/Elementalist, and my character seems to have literally LOST 10 points from his maximum energy level in the past 2 days!

I expect you'll all automatically say "You have a Death Penalty", but I don't. The reason I'm certain I don't is because I died while running around in The Breach, and was resurrected with health 184 (or whereabouts) and Energy 28. Then I used the map to travel back to Ascalon city, and when I got there I had Health 220 and Energy 34, which was exactly what I had started with on that day, and, I believe, is normal for my level. The energy 34 is due to a Grim Gesta that gives me +4, btw. Immediaetly afterwards, I went and bought a bonelace tunic and a ragged scar patter, which, together should have given me an extra +6 energy. When I put them on, however, I was still at energy 34. I then went into my inventory and unequipped the tunic, scar pattern, and gest, and, to my horror, saw that my base energy had dropped down to 20 inexplicably!!

Is this a bug? Can I get it back? Or has my character been permanently crippled? Please help!

I really don't know. If it was a small drop I would say maybe you changed your attributes around and didn't meet the requirements for one of the magical items you had or something but yeah, you're description is kinda hard to follow and trace out what went wrong.

1. Are you sure you have the correct attribute level to use the +energy modifiers on the new armor? (If the old armor was lets say +10 Energy and only required a 3 in a certain attribute and the new armor is +20 Energy but requires a 6 in a certain attribute then not only would you not get the +20 Energy but you would actually lose the 10 Energy from the old armor as well...)

2. Are you using a 2_handed weapon wherein the Grim Cesta would no longer provide any added benefit?

All professions have 20 energy in the nudd, and 2 pips of energy regen.

The clothes/armor and weapons/foci gives them the normal energy levels and regen. Some armor gives a little more or a little less.

If you equip an item with too high req. you will not get the full benefit of it but only the base 3 energy (?)

Ragged scar pattern - the ragged face scar gives +1 to Blood magic. No face scars gives energy + or - .

The bonlace armour gives no different energy levels or regen than the other armours - it gives +15AL towards piercing tho.

All in all you should still have the same energy after you equip your new armour.

Untill you go and buy body scars with gives a slight energy bonus.

Minor mistake in my original description: the scar pattern didn't give me any extra energy, it was a pair of gloves that I bought!

So my energy 34 seems to be base 20 +5 from Bonelace tunic +5 from gloves +4 from Grim Gesta.

Unfortunately I destroyed my old items so I'm not sure what they used to give me. However, letting the mouse hover over my tunic and gloves to bring up the description doesn't specify any attribute requirements at all! If there are any which don't appear in that description, how would I find out about them? As for the gesta, I'm definitely using a 1-handed weapon (wand) so I'm getting its bonus. When I unequip everything I'm down to energy 20.

As an experiment, I started a new necromancer character, and he started with energy 30 which seems to be the base for necromancers. So how could my character have possibly gone UNDER the base for his class? I'm standing around in Ascalon City european district 28 now, so I'm definitely free of DPs.

Look at your armor. It comes with +10 energy.

That's true, I just went back and checked: the Bonelace tunic and the Necromancer's tunic both give +5.

I had already destroyed my old tunic, so I couldn't compare it to the new one. It never occurred to me to unequip it before, so I naturally thought that 30 was my base energy level! I had no idea that 5 of it was from my Initiate's tunic! So when I upgraded to one that, i thought, gave me a bigger bonus, I panicked, thinking the game must've somehow lost track of what I originally had! If I'd checked the description of my old stuff I wouldn't feel so silly right now!
Thanks to everyone who helped anyway!
